Just because summer is ending doesn’t mean the fun has to!
From long days in the sun to warm starry nights, there’s just something magical about summer. As the days fly by and fall approaches, we have to squeeze in as many summertime activities as we can before bathing suits and iced coffee are replaced with sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes. Whether you’re hanging with your friends, spending quality time with your kids, or both, we’re creating a list in order for you to milk every last drop of joy out of summer. From picnics in the park to weekend getaways, we guarantee you’ll be busy until September 22.
Iconic End of Summer Fun!
1. Go to an amusement park
With record heat levels all across the country, waiting until the end of the summer to venture to your local amusement park might make your visit more enjoyable. Ride all of the rides and let your inner child run the show.
2. Throw an end-of-summer bash
Before the kids go back to school and the sun sets earlier, invite your friends and loved ones over for one last party. Roast s’mores, jump in the pool, or even have a game night. Need party ideas? We have the perfect guide right HERE!
3. Go for a Hike
Move your body and clear your mind. Indulge in the beauty nature has to offer by disconnecting for an afternoon and going for a hike. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic with a view, your mental and physical health will thank you!
4. Read a new book
Spend a final lazy day in your bed or take a trip to your favorite coffee shop and read a new book. If you haven’t been able to get away this summer, let your mind drift as you read the pages and wander to a faraway world. If you need any book suggestions, check out this summer reads guide.
5. Go to a drive-in movie
Nothing says summer like getting in the car and going to a drive-in theater. Bring dinner with you or buy it there and watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster like it’s the summer of 1965!
6.Take a Staycation
To put it mildly, traveling by plane in 2022 has been completely unhinged. Before this summer ends, skip the airport and explore your own backyard. Find a nearby town you’ve yet to visit and spend a day (or two) sightseeing local attractions.
7. Go to a Concert
Whether you love pop, country, or rap, live music just does something for the soul. From music festivals to outdoor amphitheaters to a local park, spending time soaking up the sun and good vibes of the rhythm around you makes for the perfect day.
8. Try a new Recipe and Dine Al Fresco
Put that Pinterest board to use and test out your culinary skills! You can bake a cake or even plan a full menu to enjoy before enjoying the fruits of your labor outside and beneath the stars. Just don’t forget your glass of wine!
9. Record a Podcast
Maybe you’re a devout podcast listener and have been considering starting one of your own for a while now. Why wait any longer? The beauty of podcasts is that you have the ability to record from your phone and broadcast it to the world. Take a chance and share your voice, we need to hear it.
9. Have a Craft Day
As summer winds down, often anxiety levels rise. Spending time crafting is an active way to combat anxiety and depression. Explore different types of crafting, be it cake decorating, photography, knitting, or making jewelry, so that when fall hits and the sun goes into hiding, you’re armed and equipped to make even the gloomiest day feel bright and sunny.
