It’s no wonder to us that rosé wine is as popular as it is. It’s pink and sparkles? Yes, please! But, when looking at the history of this crisp and refreshing wine, it hasn’t always been the talk of the town. In fact, up until 2010, the traditionally thought of as “cheap” wine only accounted for 8% of total wine sales. However, according to research conducted by bw166, in the US, rosé sales have skyrocketed by an amazing 1433% from 2010 to 2020.

So what changed? It’s hard to pinpoint an exact reason, but many believe it’s linked to the rise of Instagram. If we’re being honest, nothing is prettier than a fresh glass of rosé. Add a glass while sitting by the pool and who doesn’t get instant FOMO? As with the surge in popularity of cosmopolitan martinis thanks to Sex and the City, another reason could be linked to rosé being a prominent feature on many reality shows. Pop culture-obsessed fans know that Lisa Vanderpump of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills even created her own brand of rosé after showcasing it so heavily on the show.

Many millennials site rosé as being the unofficial drink of the summer. With so many brands making this light and fruity wine accessible to the masses, it’s easy to kick back with a chilled glass (or can) of rosé wherever you are. But on top of the classic glass, there are many ways to enjoy a bottle and we’re here to share our favorite recipes for you to enjoy this summer.
